Community Involvement

It’s no coincidence that community is in our name. We take pride in giving back to the people we serve and making a difference in their lives.

Community Keepers

Nominate a first responder for the Community Keepers Award! Each August, Community South accepts nominations for local heroes who go above and beyond.

On National First Responders Day each October, up to five winners will be honored with $500 and a $500 donation to a charity of their choice. Let’s tell our heroes: “You’re a Keeper!”

Splash Grants

Each year, Community South rewards local educators who have unique NEW projects or technology beyond the normal curriculum with the Splash Grant program. If you or an educator you know has a new project or technology and is lacking funding, we’re here to help.

Each year, we’re giving out a total of $5,000 in grant funds to K-12 educators in Holmes, Jackson, Walton, and Washington Counties. Our goal is to create a long-term positive ripple effect by exposing children to opportunities that otherwise might not happen in the classroom due to budget limitations.

Scholarships

Paying for college isn’t a walk in the park. That’s why we designed our scholarship program to help graduating seniors across the Florida Panhandle get the money they need to succeed.

In 2025, we awarded six $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

Member Appreciation Lunches

At Community South, our members are at the heart of everything we do. One way we show our gratitude is through our Member Appreciation Lunches—special events where we get to serve you, quite literally.

These gatherings are a chance for us to say “thank you” over a delicious meal, often catered by a local favorite and served by the same friendly Community South team you know and trust. It’s our way of coming together, sharing a bite, and celebrating the relationships that make our credit union feel like a community.
