Announcing the 2026 “Make-A-Splash!” Classroom Grant winners!

This year, Community South awarded three grants totaling $7,500!

These grants have enabled them to fund innovative projects that not only enhance the classroom experience beyond the standard curriculum but also significantly impact students' learning journeys.

Congratulations to the 2026 “Make-A-Splash!” Classroom Grant winners!

Heather Rich

Heather Rich at Bethlehem School was awarded a $1,500 grant to bring new student Chromebooks to her classroom; this new technology will enhance student engagement through interactive digital materials and create a seamless, consistent learning experience from kindergarten to graduation.

Lindsay Cooper

Lindsay Cooper at Bonifay K-8 was awarded a $3,000 grant to enhance the robotics program through hands-on, collaborative, and mobile STEAM learning technology designed to help students solve real-world problems through collaboration, coding, and critical thinking.

Penny Jones

Penny Jones at Bonifay K-8 was awarded a $3,000 grant to implement a STEAM Innovation Station in her classroom—immersive, hands-on rotational centers that challenge students to bring their science, math, and innovation skills to life by solving real-world problems while adhering to constraints, budgets, and design goals.

Thank you to all the educators who submitted proposals. We look forward to awarding more grants next year!

The 2027 “Make-A-Splash” Classroom Grant program will open for applications in February 2027.

All teachers in Holmes, Jackson, North Walton, and Washington counties are eligible to apply for a portion of the grant funding.
